APDA’s East London Outreach sessions is providing support to isolated and marginalised women and Elderly in tower hamlets in order for them to visit community venues and cultural sites of interest that they have previously been unable to access owing to cultural and societal barriers. This support will enable women to feel valued and empowered.

Through a variety of social and community-based activities, APDA works to promote the welfare and quality of life of women who encounter prejudice and are forced to fend for themselves with the bare minimum of mental and physical help for their personal growth. In addition, we explored and addressed the obstacles that older people with impairments and health issues encounter. Our East London Team strives to build a more inclusive and age-friendly society by fostering inclusion, accessibility, and support.

APDA at Vallance Sports Day 2023 (7th June 2023)

The success of the APDA service users' experience at the Vallance Sports Day 2023 can be attributed to a few key factors. We are grateful for the Vallance Sport Association who worked hard to organize the event at the Mile End Leisure Centre, creating a fun and inclusive environment.Councillor Maium Talukdar, Councillor Jahed Choudhury, and London Assembly Member (GLA) Unmesh Desai provided support and encouragement, motivating the service users and highlighting the importance of the event. Overall, the collaboration between the Vallance Sport Association and these influential individuals made the Disability Sports Day a memorable and inclusive experience for all.

Team Asian People's Disability Alliance (APDA) had an incredibly fulfilling and enriching experience at the Health and Heritage Event, which took place at the picturesque Leyton Cricket Ground. The event revolved around the well-intentioned objective of fostering inclusivity and empowerment within ethnic minority communities, while also diligently striving to raise awareness and understanding about disabilities among the local community.
