Volunteering

APDA provides a Volunteers Project which recruits and trains volunteers to help and assist in the field of health and social care.
Training is provided in Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, First Aid, Moving and Handling, the Mental Capacity Act, Disability Equality, etc.
The training equips volunteers to help and assist users and staff at the day centre and also develops their skills and confidence so that they can find a job, start education or be able to live independently as much as they can.

Some volunteers are Asians with mental health needs, so helping their participation in society.
This project is funded by RADAR, the Disability Network.
APDA has been running this service for 6 years.
